Save the Date
ENAJ’s low-budget press trip to south-western Finland
31 May–3 June 2026

Welcome to the country of the happiest people in the world (we’re not entirely sure why – but we hope you’ll find out)!

During this trip, you will discover, among other things, why Finland produces some of the best oats in the world and more than a quarter of the world’s caraway – and just how aromatic it can be.

With thousands of lakes across the country, water is our national treasure. You will hear how we ensure that agriculture does not compromise its quality. Finland is surrounded by Baltic Sea which makes it even more important to protect the waters.

Naturally, you will also meet pigs and cows and hear about the role of forests and forestry in Finland. And we will explain how Finland maintains its security of food supply – something that has become even more important in these uncertain times.

Two highlights of the trip will be a tour of the Nordkalk limestone quarry and, of course, a traditional Finnish sauna experience.

Although in early summer the sun barely sets here, a good night’s sleep is guaranteed in a comfortable hotel Scandic Plaza, right in the heart of Turku, Finland’s oldest city.

The trip will start on Sunday 31 May in Turku on a dinner hosted by the presidents of national and regional farmers unions. We wish that everyone arrives in Turku before that.

The cost of the trip three nights’ accommodation is €295 in a single room and €200 in shared double room. Participants will take care of the costs for travelling to Turku.

The program is now to be completed will be published soon. You may ask further details about the trip from Klaus Hartikainen, Klaus.hartikainen@mtk.fi or Anna Kujala, anna@tipos.fi

Please note that anyone arriving in Finland from abroad who has been in contact with animals must observe a waiting period before visiting an animal farm in Finland. At least 48 hours must pass after the last animal contact abroad, and at least 24 of those hours must be spent in Finland before entering the farm. As we will visit a pigfarm on 1 July, please make sure your travel plans comply with this requirement if you have had contact with animals prior to arrival.

We look forward to welcoming you to Finland.

Welcome – tervetuloa!
