Innovative Pig Production Tour

Pig

The Belgian and Dutch Guilds of agricultural journalists (BVLJ and NVLJ), in conjunction with the European Network of Agricultural Journalists (ENAJ) invite you to join the Innovative Pig Production Tour – taking place between May 17th and May 21st, 2014.

We hope to welcome you in the Netherlands and show you what Belgian and Dutch pig production is all about. What are the problems facing the production chain, and how are producers making the most of their opportunities? The Innovative Pig Production Tour will offer you ample opportunity to inform yourself – and your readers or listeners – about modern pig production, in Europe in general and in the Netherlands and Belgium specifically.

As the number of participants is limited, we invite you to send in your registration form as soon as possible.

Come and join us. We hope to see you in May!

Jacques Van Outryve, president of the Belgian guild
Jacqueline Wijbenga, president of the Dutch guild

and

Jef Verhaeren, chairman of the European Network of Agricultural Journalists

Programme

The Innovative Pig Production Tour will take place in the border area between Belgium and The Netherlands, one of Europe’s most productive regions for pig production. The tour will offer visits to pig farms, a feed mill and the new innovative Feed Design Lab, a facility that focuses on development of novel food and feed. Besides the practical aspects of modern pig production, we’ll discuss the use of antibiotics and innovative pig production from a European perspective.

In addition to this tour you will be invited to visit VIV Europe in Utrecht. This renowned international exhibition offers a broad perspective on  international innovative meat production, but with the main focus on pigs and poultry.
