Agriculture in Mountain Areas – Challenge or Chance?

Kühe Österreich Tirol (c)The Austrian Guild has issued an invitation to ENAJ members to join a Low Budget Trip to Austria. The trip will take place 3-5 September 2015 in Tyrol in the Alps, with the theme “Agriculture in Mountain Areas – Challenge and Chance”.

We want to show you how Austria handles its small-structured agriculture in less-favoured regions. You will learn about farms with just a few cows, but a lot of passion for farming. Furthermore you will see the system of alpine meadows, where animals spend their summers high up in the mountains. We will also tell you about traditions and special products like alpine milk. Decision-makers will tell you abut the value of farming for Austrian tourism and about programmes for less-favoured areas to help the farmers make their living.

Most of the costs of the trip will be covered by Austrian sponsors. Participants will need to pay only for their travel to Austria and the costs of their accommodation, estimated at €160.00.
